A folding telescopic fan, with double leaf of paper painted with tempera and ribs in gold leaf and figures with ivory applications on their faces and silk on their clothes. On the front and back, the decoration, referred to as "of a thousand faces", depicts courtly scenes with many people on terraces that look onto a garden in which different figures are conversing or strolling. These scenes are framed by a border pattern combining flowers and symbols.

It also has 14 ribs and two guardsticks, made in lacquered black bamboo and gilt decoration with small touches of red that also shows a garden scene with a group of figures enjoying fishing and talking by a pond. The scene is framed by a frieze with a series of Chinese symbols.
