A letter from Susan B Anthony to her Uncle Albert & Aunt Ann Eliza, dated November 9, 1851. Amidst family and personal updates, she writes, "[If] women...would but possess themselves with energy and stamina go boldly forth and compete with man in all the trades & professions, there would no longer be this cry of oppression. The question is what business shall S.B Anthony embark in." (National Susan B Anthony Museum & House Collection.)
