A folding fan, with double leaf of paper painted with tempera and ribs in gold leaf and figures with ivory applications on their faces and silk on their clothes. On the front, the "thousand-face" decoration represents a battle with people fighting on foot and horseback with lances and shields and a cannon on the far left. On the back is a scene with a courtesan in a room that opens, through terraces, onto a garden where different figures are conversing and walking. On both sides, the scenes are each framed with borders that mix symbolic decoration.
It also has 16 rivets and the two guardsticks, produced in black lacquered bamboo and with gilt decoration with small touches of red in which another battle scene is depicted surrounded by a floral border. The guardsticks are decorated with small scenes and symbolic animal motifs. It has a head in mother-of-pearl and a ring of gilt metal hanging from which are two salmon and green silk tassles, each decorated with a white bead.
