Paper doll set

This set of handmade paper dolls dating from about 1905 was the work of 10-year-old Susie Marie Williams of Rochester, NY. Using pen and ink and watercolors, Williams fashioned her dolls and their clothing after the many advertising paper dolls companies used at the turn of the 20th century to promote their beverages, patent medicines, and other household goods.
