Silver medal from the City of Bogota, awarded to De la Torre in 1948 for his studies on its founder, the lawyer Gonzalo Ximénez de Quesada. Press cutting from that time, with the awarding of the medal. The research conducted by the archivist, José de la Torre y del Cerro, brought him great recognition in the Americas. Peru and Colombia were among the countries that paid homage to him. For José Cosano, Director of the Real Academia of Cordoba, “his commitment to Americanism reached its zenith when the distinguished Cordoban researcher was invited to attend the First International Congress of Peruanistas, during the first two weeks August 1951, to commemorate the 4th Centenary of the founding of the oldest university in the Americas: Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos.”
