Based in New York City, Albanian Institute has presented and commissioned ambitious projects throughout the city, across the country, and around the world. As an international organization, our mandate is to engage art as a forum to foster exchange of ideas and culture.
The institute has five core strategic areas of focus: the arts, culture, society, business, and education and we are dedicated to drive each element forward. Programs range from music, dance, film, theatre, and performance, to architecture, design, fashion, visual arts, in addition to literary events, artists' talks, and lecture series.
Albanian Institute New York is dedicated to promote and support emerging and established artists, provide a forum for dialogue and cultural exchange, and create educational opportunities in the US and beyond.
Collaborations and meaningful partnerships are at the heart of our work. We have worked with artists, curators, creative professionals, and some of the world’s biggest institutions and museums to produce and present our projects, including the New Museum, Museum of the Moving Image, and New York Foundation for the Arts, and Europe’s largest cultural organizations through our ongoing partnerships. Our work to promote the arts and cultural exchange is greatly enhanced through our membership with the European Union National Institutes for Culture – a global coalition of EU cultural organizations working in over 80 countries in all continents.
Everything we do, from our exhibitions in the galleries, live performances, screenings in theaters, and partnerships around the world, to the activities in education, participation in international festivals and biennales support our mission: to promote understanding and enjoyment of modern and contemporary art and visual culture.
