The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center is site of the first presidential library in the nation (opened May 30, 1916). In addition to the Hayes Museum/Library, the site includes the 31-room Hayes Mansion, burial site of 19th U.S. President Ruterford B. Hayes and his wife Lucy, 25 acres of the President's beloved 'Spiegel Grove' estate, and five sets of the White House's original gates. Year-round special events and temporary exhibits ensure there always is something new for visitors.
