No Limit: The city as an art gallery 2017

NO LIMIT STREET ART 2017 - No Limit opened up for the first time in 2014 with participating artists from seven different countries. In 2015 the event became a biennial festival and in 2017 Borås extended the citys outdoor gallery with new walls, spots and new art forms. No Limit is about everything from small street art installations to large scale murals over 7 storey buildings. About 30 large scale murals within short walking distance is now present in the City of Borås and together with more than 100 sculptures it creates a gigant outdoor gallery in the city center.

The long wait (2017-09-10) by Fintan MageeNo Limit Street Art Borås

The long wait

The long wait by Australian born Fintan Magee. Created on the huge gable of Quality Hotel Grand in Borås the piece stretches about 30 meters up in the air portraying a girl sitting in the tree branches. Drawing from personal experience and the mundane his figurative paintings are deeply integrated with the urban environment and explore themes of waste, consumption, loss, transition, and the environment and his works contain a sentimentality and softness influenced by children’s books and the Low Brow art movement.

Small minitiature shops created by the artist collective AnonyMouse and secretly installed during night time during No Limit Street Art Borås.

Unfortunately weather has worn out the small shops and they are not longer present in the street.

Half Snow Wolf (2017-09-10) by Bordalo IINo Limit Street Art Borås

Half Snow Wolf

Bordalo II created the piece "Half Snow Wolf" on the gable of the Tourist Office of Borås during No Limit Street Art 2017. It´s a three dimensional sculpture, hung to the wall, made by trash. The idea is to depict nature itself, in this case animals, out of materials that are responsible for its destruction. Damaged bumpers, burnt garbage cans, tires and appliances are just some of the objects that can be identified when you go into detail. They are camouflaging the result of our habits with little ecological and social awareness. The piece is illuminated during Swedish winter.

Lonac (2017-09-10) by LonacNo Limit Street Art Borås

No Limit Street Art is about thousands of cans of spray paint and buckets of wall paint. It´s about loads of work but a lot more fun. It´s about bringing good and happy art to the people rather than bringing the people to an exhibition or a gallery. Most welcome to Borås, Sweden to enjoy street art, sculptures and the happiness all the pieces has brought to the city....
