No Limit Street Art Borås, Sweden 2014

Natalia Rak (left) often paints colourful humans and faces with inspiration from fairytales or a kind of imaginary world. Her work “Ophelia” for No Limit Borås is the festivals highest mural that stretches over a 7-storey buildning and 27 meters.

Simple (right) uses his surroundings environment to influence his style, seen in his technique of blending clean lines, surrealism, and geometric shapes that realises heavliy on his use of discarded wood.

NO LIMIT STREET ART BORÅS

No Limit is an outdoor art event inviting artists from around the world to participate in turning public space into an outdoor exhibition. The idea is not new. Street-Art has been changing neighborhoods and cities around the globe for many years but Sweden, which has remained mostly vacant of large scale murals due to its strict “Zero tolerance” policy, is now getting a chance to be a part of this fast growing culture with its first large-scale mural event in the city of Borås.

The event, named No Limit, has participating artists from 7 different countries including The Netherlands, Brasil, Italy, Germany, Poland, Spain and Sweden. The artists, some of which have been painting graffiti and street-art as far back as 1981, are bringing a wide range of talent to Sweden. The walls, which the artists will be painting over the course of the week-long event, reaches as high as 7-storey buildings.

Peeta (left) or Manuel Di Rita has a beautiful style between street art and graffiti exploring the potential of sculptural lettering, both in painting and in sculptures.

The London Police (right) or TLP are well known for their ironic LADS characters and precision marking. A very unique style almost always presented in black & white.

Isaac Cordal (right) with the simple act of miniaturization and thoughtful placement, Isaac magically expands the imagination of pedestrians finding his sculptures on the street.

Eduardo Kobra (left) paints with bright colors and often portrays well known and famous people with characteristic kaleidoscope styled themes throughout his art. In Borås he portrayed the medal of the Nobel Peace Price. Some months earlier he portrayed the 2014 Nobel Peace Price winner Malala Yousafzai in Rome, Italy.

Carolina Falkholt (right) has an artistic process on site that is fierce and exact. Often with intricate meshworks and typical motives are semiotic imagery and female body.
