The Castle history

It was built by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in 1984 during his rule in the Eastern Province. This is to be an administrative headquarters that includes the city's institutions, a watchtower, and a guard headquarters.

Sheikh Zayed chose a strategic location for it and personally supervised the stages of its construction. It was also used for a temporary period as the headquarters of the Al Ain Police Command.

 Al Murabbaa occupies a prime location in the city center and is high on the ground and spreads over a wide area. Anyone coming from Sheikh Khalifa Street, passing over the bridge, can see it standing upright with its magnificent stature and its view of all the neighboring buildings.

The castle has a huge square tower

It is consisting two floors which contains several openings of different shapes and widths. It was designed in this way to withstand the wind and the attacks of invaders.

The square has a side length of about four meters and a height of about five meters.

The castle is surrounded by a courtyard on all four sides, surrounded by a wall 2.5 m high and surmounted by triangular balconies. It is one of the few squares that includes a large courtyard surrounding it.
