SKMKUM Castel

Represents the glory and grandeur of the past, and it tells the history of Fujairah in general, and the Sukmkum region in particular.

It is distinguished by its precise engineering character, its position, its rigidity and its convenient location. Therefore, it was used to protect the agricultural areas, which at that time were the economic backbone of the entire population.

It was also used for defensive purposes of the region and agricultural lands and to control the passage between the coast and the interior lands in successive periods of history.

Work was carried out on the restoration of the castle

in the years 2013-2014 AD and the rehabilitation of all its parts built of solid stones, mud inlaid with pebbles, palm fronds and leaves.

The castle was built on a hill 31 meters high and overlooks the area and the surrounding areas.

A wall and a gate will now be erected for it, and a heritage village will be built next to it.
