The castle remained the main landmark

The historical center for its people until the modern era, and it overlooks a large number of agricultural oases.

It is a large castle. It’s sturdy and constructed of mud, stones, and palm trees, on a low hill and with a square shape. It also includes one circular tower in its southwest corner.

In its courtyard, there are several rooms  that were built in different periods of time. At the bottom, you can find a number of aflaj, a few kilometers long, dating back to the end of the millennium BC.

Prominent castle

Masafi Castle is one of the most prominent castles that tell the ancient history of the Masafi region and express the historical events that passed through it.

Stunning natural view

It gives the viewer a stunning natural view of the surrounding area. Despite the disappearance of some of its main parts and features, its beautiful and cohesive construction gives an impression of the durability and strength of the building in the past.

In the restoration of the castle, materials from the local environment were used to ensure its complete harmony with it. The castle and its tower were completely restored and its adjacent annexes in the period (2009-2011).  The height of the tower is 7 meters and the length of its diameter is 5 meters.
