Mondo Reale, part of the 23rd International Exhibition Unknown Unknowns. An Introduction to Mysteries is a reflection on the concepts of mystery and the unknown through the work of 17 international artists.

Including films, paintings, photography, installations and sculptures, it explores the reality as a reverie, proposing an aesthetic experience around knowledge: a direct, emotional encounter with multiple visions of the unknown through the lens of art and science.

The exhibition design allows visitors to freely wander among the artworks and let their imagination, curiosity, and emotions run wild.  The materials used, mostly borrowed or recycled, allow for repair and reuse and include wood, bricks, metal scaffoldings, and paper.

Among the works presented, Sho Shibuya shares his daily artistic ritual during the pandemic: "The stark contrast between the beauty of nature and the chaos. I decided to paint that feeling: the blue sky through a small window, right on top of the front page of The New York Times"

Alex Cerveny’s work for Mondo Reale is an invitation to take the time to stop, look and listen to the multitude of creatures populating both reality and fiction.

Ron Mueck's Man in a Boat reflects an inner world of private feelings. By creating over-scaled or under-scaled human-like sculptures, the artist proposes a journey into the subconscious, engaging the visitors in a deep empathetic link with archetypical figures.
