To be eligible, artists are required to have released their first record 25 years prior to Induction. Eminem, Duran Duran, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, and Carly Simon were on the ballot for the first time. This is Eminem’s first year of eligibility.

Simon’s Number One hit and signature song “You’re So Vain” inspired a debate about the title subject’s identity that lasted for decades.
Only recently did Simon confirm that the second verse of "You're So Vain" was about actor Warren Beatty. Though Simon said, “Warren thinks the whole thing is about him!” she declined to name the inspirations for the two other verses.

With her prodigious songwriting talent, vocal and instrumental prowess, charisma, and trademark style, Dolly Parton has achieved immense global success as a musician and blazed a trail for generations of artists to come.

These food displays were created for Eminem’s restaurant Mom’s Spaghetti, which opened in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan in 2021. The name references a lyric from Eminem’s 2002 Number One hit “Lose Yourself,” from the soundtrack to the semi-autobiographical film 8 Mile.
Eurythmics
Employing the mechanistic funk of Krautrock, the grit of gospel, and the strangeness of psychedelia, Eurythmics’ genre- and gender-fluid pop vision was both futuristic and beholden to past eras, while remaining eminently accessible.
