中国美术学院新时期（1976-  ）    改革开放以来，学院获得了新生。教学、科研、校园建设，都取得了前所未有的巨大成就。学院领导高瞻远瞩，率先在全国美术学院中购进一大批优秀的外文图书，有效的丰富和拓展了师生的视野。    教师们的思想获得了解放，各种手法、观念层出不穷。20世纪80年代以后涌现的知名当代艺术家，很多出自于我院，这与学院宽松、开放的办学思路不无关系。    我院教师的作品在官方美展中，也是佳作不断，获奖累累。版画作品《秋瑾》获得1980年第二届全国青年美展金奖；《国耻篇》获得第十届全国版画展金奖。第九届、第十届全国美展，我院获得金奖和奖牌的作品数量，在全国高等美术学院中，也都首屈一指。    学院还积极开展对外交流，一批优秀的国外艺术家来我院执教，如保加利亚壁挂艺术家万曼、旅法艺术家司徒立，都在我院展开了卓有成效的教学活动，他们的艺术创作也在我院留下了重要足迹。
