Samyan Zone: Enduring food market, deep-rooted community

Samyan Zone is the heart of "the Art4C Gallery Office" located on Rama IV Road. The Art4C or Art for Community is a parent project of the Chula Art Town sub project with an iconic collaborative work of The Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts alumni, Class 16, titled "Refocus"

The Chinese Opera (2019) by Joker EB CrewFaculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University

Walking a few steps from the “Refocus" painting on Soi Chulalongkorn 50 Road, you will find the huge outstanding "Chinese Opera" painting by artist Joker : EB Crew at the end of the block.

Pink Community (2019) by Jecksbkk / NongPopFaculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University

Then walking pass the well-known "Samyan rice porridge" towards popular bakery "Tonkok Samyan”, you will find the work of duo artists, Jecksbkk, and NongPop, titled "Pink Community". The painting is influenced by the pillow maker shop and local Chinese noodles restaurant nearby.

Motorcycle Taxi (2019) by BigDelFaculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University

Walking towards the Rama IV Road, at the beginning of Soi Chulalongkorn 9, you will find a "Motorcycle Taxi Station”, the artwork of "BigDel" street artist who loves to play with the character that represents the location’s identity.

By walking a few steps on Rama IV Road towards Soi Chulalongkorn 5, you will see a small Soi with 2 big and long paintings. The first is titled "BETTER”, a work of duo artists, Misterbows Graffiti and Santi.

Every Life Needs… RUNKIRIN!! (2019) by Abi Original / Eya MonstaFaculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University

The second artwork titled "very life needs… RUNKIRIN!" is a collaborative work of Abi Original and Eya Monsta. This little Soi used to be a Motorcycle Parking lot.

King of Beasts (2019) by Bonus TMCFaculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University

Continue walking on Rama IV Road, then turn right to Banthat Thong Road, and you will see the first soi, Soi Chulalongkorn 36 with a five-story high painting of Bonus TMC, titled "King of the beast"

Continue walking along Soi Chulalongkorn 36 which intersects with Soi Chulalongkorn 5 and you will be greeted with a very long painting along the fence of Pathumwan school. This painting is a part of Chula Art Town workshop, run by Bigdel artist for the local students and residents of the Samyan and Suanluang areas to join this creative project.

Samyan (2019) by Komkrit Leatwisavakorn / Rachan Klomkleng / Bang Bang / Abi Original / Darkone / Ironskin OtwoFaculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University

The last piece of artwork in the Samyan zone is also titled "Samyan". Considered the biggest artwork in Chula Art Town, it is over 10 meters wide and as tall as a 3-storey building.

This Samyan artwork is not only the biggest artwork in terms of size, but also in terms of the number of artists who created it. It is a joint force of 6 artists, Komkrit Leatwisavakorn - Rachan Klomkleng - Bang Bang - Abi Original - Darkone - Ironskin Otwo to complete this piece.
