George Amponsah: Double Bill

A look into two films directed by George Amponsah, while he was a Documentary Directing student at the National Film and Television School.

George Amponsah directed Black Power: A British Story of Resistance, Ensalved and The Hard Stop.  While he was a documentary student at the NFTS he directed these two films below, One Plus One and Bruised to be Used.

One Plus One (2000)

George Amponsah and twin brother Ben, a former British army officer, return their ancestral homeland, Ghana.  They meet their father for the first time in twenty years. The journey provokes a series of bittersweet questions in the brothers about their identities and differences.

Bruised to be Used (2001)

A young man takes us on a journey of redemption. It soon becomes clear that he stands to make a much bigger splash in his new career than he ever could have as a criminal.
