Bringing together images from the Brazilian Bisexual Front, the Transgender Museum of History and Art - MUTHA and Zona de Cinema, Nucleus 2: Politics as Affection sought to highlight the work of dissident collectives in the public dimension.
Here, the images selected show the diversity of possibilities for action, ranging from fighting for a cause to safeguarding productions by trans people and creating and expanding spaces for marginalized and dissident bodies.
Politics here is the objective form of action and materialization of affection.

Brazilian Bisexual Front
The Brazilian Bisexual Front is a network of independent collectives and activists from different parts of Brazil. It was created from a national meeting of the bisexual movement organized in 2020.

Transgender Museum of History and Art (MUTHA)
Created in 2020, the Transgender Museum of History and Art (MUTHA) is the only trans museum in Brazil. With historical and artistic archives, it is curated by Ian Habib and brings together transgender artists and activists of different gender identities, class, race-ethnicity and disability.

Zona de Cinema
Formed in 2016 by two periphery culture workers (Gisele Motta and Jefferson Placido), today Zona de Cinema is made up of white and black cis lesbian and bisexual women who seek to promote culture in peripheral territories through a film festival.

Without distinction of gender, the word Kamba brings together a multiplicity of meanings. Originating in the Quimbundo language, one of the many languages spoken in Angola, Africa, it means those who are united by friendship, brotherhood and/or companionship. Kamba: collective dissidence brought together six collectives selected via a call for proposals, whose starting point was the alliances built between people from different social, sexual, affective and gender diversity backgrounds, willing to create and act together.
