In December 2014, Ranjit Dahiya from 'Bollywood Art Project' began work on a mural as a tribute to a legend lost in the timeline of the city of Mumbai. He was assisted by artists Yantr, Munir Bukhari and Nilesh Kharade.

The mural was painted on a fairly iconic building of the government telephone exchange - the MTNL building in Bandra. The artists worked over 10 days using over 800 litres of paint to complete the mammoth mural.

The city of Mumbai thrives on the Bollywood industry, yet a lot of people may not have known the man regarded as the father of that industry. That man was Dadasaheb Phalke, and this mural was a reminder of the importance of his contribution to the city.
