Norman Hartnell
1901-79
The greatest British couturier of the mid-20th century, Hartnell worked for Queen Elizabeth II and designed her wedding dress and coronation dress. He was the first person to be knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to fashion.

1945-2010
Most famous for her work designing for Diana, Princess of Wales, Walker worked very closely with Diana, and helped her to shape her iconic style. She enjoyed bringing elements of tailoring into her designs.

Frederick Scholte
1865-1948
The Duke of Windsor's tailor, Scholte introduced innovations into English tailoring such as the English drape. This was a very distinctive 1930s look identified by the fullness around the chest and looseness in the shoulders.

A leading London couturier, Oldfield designed elegant eveningwear for Diana, Princess of Wales. He has dressed many royal women and celebrities during his career, including creating Queen Camilla's coronation gown.

1932-
David Sassoon designed for nearly every royal woman of the second half of the 20th century. He created couture fashion for society women and celebrities. He helped Diana, Princess of Wales dress for her royal duties as she began her life as member of the royal family.
