Some of my Favorite Van Goghs
Café Terrace on the Place du Forum, September 1888, From the collection of: Dallas Museum of Art
Undergrowth, Vincent van Gogh, July 1889 - 1889, From the collection of: Van Gogh Museum
A unique painting. You can see so much from far away and notice and abundance of strokes from close. Immense detail and great use of light make this painting very interesting
The potato eaters, Vincent van Gogh, April 1885 - May 1885, From the collection of: Van Gogh Museum
Van Gogh didn't introduce a lot of vibrant color in his early works, this is one that begins a transition from dull, dark paintings to ones that are more stylistic. This one though is still gloomy.

The Dance Hall in Arles, Vincent van Gogh, 1888, From the collection of: Musée d’Orsay, Paris
It seems here that Van Gogh is exploring a slightly different style as was usual for him. It reminds me of Toulouse Lautrecs style. They spent time together so it is likely they influenced each other.
