Chula Art Town: A public art space for the community

CU Art Town Activities (2019) by ATM Spray (Facebook page)Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University

At Chula Art Town, the art is not only for art's sake. There are more than 50 street artists working in the public space to create an artistic environment for the community surrounding Chulalongkorn University.

Arts are immersed in our daily lives, a residential area, a local market, and a shopping mall. Thus, we can observe and view the works of arts not only from art galleries but anywhere we go, including Chula Art Town.

Art is for people... and people can become part of the works of art. Some artists like to integrate people's stories and culture from the surrounding area into their Art.

Art is multi-functional with its reflecting culture and activities from people around the place. The artists have designed their works as part of the social mechanism, that function beyond their aesthetic value.

Art is a visual language utilized by artists, students, and art lovers for communication. Everyone can learn, participate, and share among friends, community, and beyond.

At Chula Art Town, we not only learn about the arts, artists, the local community, heritage and culture but we also participate to become a painter or part of the artwork itself.

Let's now visit Chula Art Town or the CU Art Town, a place for everyone to enjoy art.
