Built probably in the 12th century, with a rectangular body with a single classroom with a high cruising roof and ending with a square choir, the church of San Donato was entrusted to a group of Benedictine monks who followed the Rule inaugurated in Montevergine (Avellino) from St. William from Vercelli.
The frescoes
Performed in multiple tranches from the 1860s and until about 1530, the frescoes of the church of San Donato are currently held on the vaults of the three spans and on their respective walls.
