Piero Fornasetti in Triennale Photo Archive
On the occasion of "Piero Fornasetti. 100 years of practice madness" (13th November - 9th February 2014) - the first great exhibition dedicated to the designer in Italy, curated by his son, Barnaba Fornasetti, and organised by Triennale Design Museum - the Triennale Library proposes a tale about the multifaced artist throught the materials preserved in the Triennale Photo Archive. Painter, engraver and printer, designer, collector, stylist, refined craftsman, art gallery manager and exhibition promoter, Fornasetti has been an extremely rich and complex personality. He designed and made approximately 13.000 objects and decorations. His world is animated by the rigour of project, of art and craftsmanship, but also by unbridled fantasy, surrealist invention and poetry. They are presented preparatory studies, drawing, object and artworks exhibited by Fornasetti at the VI Triennale of 1936, VII Triennale of 1940 and IX Triennale of 1951.
