Restless researcher
and sensitive observer of reality and of the most topical artistic trends, he experiments different artistic languages through photography, installation and, especially during the last years, video productions characterized by a strong conceptual charge imbued with social moods and historical issues.
This analysis is always more focused and awake on the potential of video and on social and political issues that fill this Umbrian artist’s poetics. Segaricci’s investigation take shape through the creation of short videos that, recording the status mutation of simple objects, in fact denounce the contradictions of modern society.
Work’s alienation and the "disintegration" caused by industrialized and multiethnic society are revealed in Segaricci’s video sequences, through the suggestive strenght of the scenes, the hypnotic quality of the loop and the keys offered by the titles.
The synthesis of the used video vocabulary (fixed shots, centrality of the subject, formal clearness and saturated colors) is the backbone of this minimal visual diary. A storytelling structured on short and epigrammatic similarities in order to give back with force, but also with poetry, historical, social and personal contradictions.
