Watya Gonna Do

Making music is a key part of Heart n Soul. During lockdown they explore how you can make music together when you can’t be in the same space and experimented with making music online. 

Danielle collaborated with artist Rosie Ridgway using Chrome Music Lab, where she recorded sounds from around her house to create the track Watya Gonna Do.  

Planet Earth (Start all over again) (2020-05-01) by IssacArts Council England

Planet Earth (Start All Over Again)

Isaac collaborated with musician Charles Stuart using BandLab to create his track Planet Earth (Start All Over Again).  

She miss me (2020-06-01) by K-dogArts Council England

She Miss Me

K-Dog (Kishawn) collaborated with artist Lindsay Corstorphine. He used Ableton Live, resulting in lots of new songs including She Miss Me.

Learning together

Young people shared what they had learnt in Heart n Soul's Digital Do Your Own Thing music sessions where the group explored how to make music together. By experimenting with new software, the young musicians gained confidence in creating new music and finding lots of different ways to express themselves. They now make music together on Zoom independently.

Alicia and Shades explored using experimentation to find new digital possibilities to make music together remotely.

Ehima, Baffour and Shades went one step further and pushed the digital boundaries in this freestyle jam session from August.
