Since the opening of the Mila at the end of 2005, the events follow one another to facilitate the meetings between the independent of the music and the inhabitants of the district. Located in the heart of a Paris Habitat rental park of 2000 inhabitants, the Mila wishes to get involved in the local life.

On April 8, 2006, the inauguration of the building at 2 rue André Messager, allowed the organization of an open house for MILA. This day dedicated to meeting with the residents was the occasion to present the association, its musical creation pole and the activity of the installed labels

In 2012 and 2013, the Mila and Hands And Arms took advantage of the global Disquaire Day event to transform the Mila into an ephemeral record store. Participating labels were able to interact with their fans and showcase their artists to the curious and music lovers.

To go beyond the sale of CDs and merchandising and meet the public, MILA pushed the ephemeral transformation by organizing concerts in its meeting room. Bertrand Burgalat was a guest star the first year.

Mila partners with many other local actors to organize neighborhood parties that are an opportunity to take ownership of the area and build a bond between residents and businesses in the neighborhood.

To discover the artists represented by the resident structures within the Mila, a CD compilation was offered to all participating residents. The initiative was repeated the following year with more records released.

A participative artwork was created with a graffiti artist from the 18th district (Via Art'Exprim du 18e) and the children of the district for a new identity of the metal curtains of MILAB (the coworking space of MILA).

Since 2015, the Blémont-Messager district has been listed as a "priority district for city policy". This means that the city policy will mobilize on this district to focus on its development, especially economic. With this in mind, the MILA has approached local associations.

Participatory workshops, meetings with local development and social teams (AFEV/Kapseurs, L'Accorderie 18, De Monblemont, Lifes GRAJAR, Centre Anim Binet, CAF, Paris Habitat, Village Clignancourt, Espace Jeunes Mont Cenis, Centre Social Belliard), MILA was able to introduce itself, participate in a project watch and provide technical and logistical support.
