The MIMO FESTIVAL has been held since 2004 in Brazil. This was the first time that the event was held in the city of Porto, in Portugal. In 2022, the festival was held between the 23rd and 25th of September. During three days, the Historic Center of Porto hosted 60 cultural activities/attractions.
Mário Lúcio is one of the leading names in music and the arts in Cape Verde. He took the stage accompanied by The Kriols, a group formed by five Portuguese musicians who explore the Creole sound.
The MIMO is a free cultural festival with the aim of occupying different scenarios of historic cities such as secular churches, gardens, squares and museums.
Mário Lúcio is the most recorded composer in Cape Verde. In addition to being a singer and songwriter, he is an award-winning novelist, poet, playwright and philosopher. For five years he served as Minister of Culture.
After the release of the single “Migrants”, which gives the name to the new album, the artist searches for ancestry and bets on Creole as a manifesto that feels at the edge of his skin.
Journalist, poet, composer and interpreter Chico César is one of the icons of Brazilian culture.
Chico César classifies himself as a “political being”. He was Secretary of Culture of the State of Paraíba, in Brazil.

At MIMO Chico César sang about memory, land, ancestry and Brazilian culture. The musician enchanted the audience with vibrant colors and sound.
His first tour took place in 1991 in Germany. But it was in 1996 that he became internationally known with the song "Mama África". In 1997, the song's music video won the award for "Best MPB Music Video" at MTV Video Music Brasil (VMB).
"Vestido de Amor" is Chico César's 10th album.

Brazilian based in Porto, DJ Farofa, is a music researcher, selector, curator and cultural producer . He specializes in Brazilian Music.
His audience admires the tropical and electrifying beat of the brazilian music. The DJ Farofa makes the dance floor boil.
The brazilian digital artist, Roberta Carvalho, has been developing the Symbiosis project since 2007. Symbiosis mixes urban intervention, photography, digital video and installation.
The term Symbiosis that comes from ecology designates a relationship between two or more living organisms of different species, in which both have gains in this relationship. In this case: nature, man and the city.
The Orquestra Voadora is one of the icons of the street carnival in Rio de Janeiro.
Created in Rio de Janeiro and has been parading since 2009 at Carnival. Its route starts at Aterro do Flamengo and goes to the garden of the Museum of Modern Art. With the success of the parades, he began to perform outside the carnival period in Brazil and abroad.
The Orquestra Voadora revolutionized the concept of fanfare bands in Brazil. With a modern repertoire, rock n'roll attitude and new percussion elements, it enchants everyone wherever it goes.
Guitarist since age 7. Plínio Fernandes is currently one of the revelations of the classical guitar. At age 16, he was accepted by the Royal Academy of Music in London. He is 28 years old and his career in international classical music is starting to gain prominence.
Plínio Fernandes gave a beautiful and disputed presentation at the Igreja do Carmo. Historical heritage, the church was built in the second half of the 18th century and is considered one of the most remarkable buildings of the Rococo style in the city of Porto.
Winner of the Latin Grammy for Best Rock Album or Alternative Music in Portuguese Language, Emicida is one of the biggest revelations of rap in Brazil in the 2000s
The artist presented his award-winning album “AmarElo” on the Main Stage of the MIMO Festival, bringing to the public a mixture of Brazilian musical rhythms.
Emicida mixes Brazilian musical rhythms and makes his songs an instrument of political awareness. It seeks to rewrite the history of Brazil, denouncing structural racism in the country.
Activist belonging to Global Club Music. The portuguese DJ Branko is the founder of Buraka Sound System and the label Enchufada.
