designed and customised in every part by the artist, is characterised by a floor made up of a pictorial intervention using resins and optical fibres and contains reflections and notes by the author herself.
Luciana Matalon
She was a multifaceted artist, devoting herself to painting, sculpture and jewellery making.
Among the Italian cultural figures who have written about her are: Vincenzo Accame, Arturo Schwarz, Vittorio Sgarbi and Carlo Strinati.
In 2000, the artist established the Foundation named after her in Milan, aspiring to create a space that would be an international crossroads for new artistic directions. The Fondazione Luciana Matalon was elected "Luogo d'arte" by the curator of the Italian Pavilion at the 54th Venice Biennale, Vittorio Sgarbi.
In 2011, recommended by Prof. Francesco Alberoni, she participated in the 54th Venice Biennale, Italian Pavilion. In the same year her personal exhibition was hosted at Palazzo Racani.
In 2013 she donated a 12-metre monumental sculpture, the Sun City, to the city of Rozzano. A "twin" work of his has been in Netanya, Israel, since 2007.
Today, the foundation continues to host exhibitions and events that carry on the ideology of the founder.
