Feel the magic as his powerful voice fills the splendid premises of Turin’s iconic gem
Walking around a beautiful museum alone at night, is probably something many people would like to experience once in their life. To look at timeless art pieces with nobody around you, would be a completely unique opportunity.
Marco Mengoni, one of Italy’s most beloved music stars, got to live that once-in-a-lifetime moment in his latest video for the track Hola, taken from his highly anticipated fifth album, Atlantico. In this ambitious video, captured in one continuous shot, viewers see the young singer seemingly left alone in Turin’s colossal Palazzo Madama, a baroque palace that once welcomed the first Italian senate and now houses the city’s Museum of Ancient Art and its precious art collection.

Walking around the Palazzo’s halls with its high ceilings delicately painted by Italian artist Domenico Guidobono, Mengoni’s unusual night stroll reveals a much different reality. As the viewer follows the musician down its huge staircase (famously featured in Peter Collinson’s movie The Italian Job), a full band and string quartet plays live, while Mengoni’s astonishing voice reverberates in every corner. The video shows the sparks that can happen when a unique place of culture and a distinctive musical talent come together to create something special.
