The chapel was originally built for the religious services of the Baron de Nova Friburgo's family. At the time of the Presidency of the Republic, it was used as a visiting room, returning to function as a chapel during the funeral of President Afonso Pena in 1909.
In the image, two doors, the closed one, which is fake, guarantee the symmetry of the environment. Christian symbols can be seen in the cross details of the parquet floor, walls and chandelier; and the bronze sculpture "A Prece" (authored by Benevenuto Berna).
