BAUGASM - VASJEN KATRO

Vasjen Katro, visual designer and creative director, also known as Baugasm, came to graphic design through music; he was an electronic music producer some years ago. When he signed his first contract with a label, he wanted to created the artwork of his first EP by himself. That was the first time he explored graphic design on a real product. Baugasm is well-known for his a-poster-a-day project. He has been creating one poster everyday for 2 years. Even when he ended up in the hospital with two broken ribs, he asked for his laptop and kept creating posters. “Most of the time, it’s just experimentation until I’m happy and tell myself to stop,” he says, “knowing when to stop is part of being a designer. You have to learn when to finish a project. I could spend hours designing one poster”.

CAFFÈ DESIGN

Caffè Design is a sperimental project about Design that started in 2017 from Giuliano, Nanni and Riccardo.Three different kinds of designers with three different personalities, they all have a common vision: making graphic design a discipline that anyone can understand easily, from professionals to laypeople. They’re doing it using an everyday language and they’re using a media that is raising in popularity, the podcast. Caffè Design is a discussion about design related topics: communication, technology, marketing and innovation, it aims to show how design is bringing the world to a better future. They aim to reach as much people as they can, without beating around the bush and using unnecessarily complex theories. It brings design to its rawest simplicity, the aim is not to teach but to inform, inspire and design a future lightly, without any filter; showing that it’s possible to be professional without being boring.

Tilman is a graphic designer, he’s a specialist in finding meaning of companies and institutions and transform it into direct communication creating unique brands. For this, knowing and working with the client in a team is essential “to get it right the first time.” He is a strong believer of sharing knowledge through different platforms such as the Master Postgrafica which he co-direct with Marc Català or the WHY TALKS, where the speakers listen that he organizes since 2016 at the Soho House Barcelona and the OFFF Festival Barcelona. Tilman has been sharing his voice as Mucho’s third partner since September 2010.Tilman has been teaching Design and Branding in different Universities since 2010 and has given master classes and conferences in Barcelona, Stavenger, Torino, Ciudad de México, Fortaleza, Antwerp, Qatar, Oslo, Bergen, London, Cincinnati, Bratislava, Madrid…

MAURO BUBBICO

Mauro Bubbico was born in Montescaglioso (Matera), where he lives and works as a professional graphic designer. Among all the fields of graphic design, he works mainly in the educational and social ones. Hi did a lot of his researches about places and their inhabitants over the years brought him to the definition of a visual language that narrates and enhances them, promoting social, economical and cultural development. He thinks that, first of all, graphic design is capable of creating great narrations. Currently he’s a professor of Graphic Design at ISIA di Urbino and Abadir di Catania. He’s AIAPmember since 1990 and AGI member since 2017.

SLIM DOGS

Slim Dogs Production is a digital communication and videomaking agency, founded in 2014. The agency has four main partners: Matteo Bruno, Giovanni Santonocito, Adriano Santucci and Marco Cioni, each one of them has the lead of the main departments, in this way they can control the entire production. Matteo Bruno, also known as Cane Secco (300,000 subscribers) on the web is the leader of the DOP and videomaking department. Giovanni Santonocito is the person in charge of the post-production, is also co-founder with Matteo Bruno,m from 2014. Adriano Santucci, is the chief producer, he became partner of Slim Dogs in 2015 and he’s never lost his affinity with the camera. Marco Cioni is Slim Dogs’ marketing and account manager, he works in the digital marketing field since 2014.Slim Dogs is active among all the kinds of video productions. It started from the web and is now one of the principal agency in communication and digital production fields.

COPENHAGEN SIGNS 

Jakob Engberg (36 y.o.) is the founder of Copenhagen Signs has a background as a graphic designer and has, through the years, been working in a lot of different creative fields, before finishing his apprenticeship as a sign maker in 2015. After a time of working with contemporary sign techniques as wells as screen printing, gold leaf and hand painted signs for highly renowned sign companies, he later chose to put all his focus on traditional hand painted signs. He is now the only full time sign painter in Denmark, working under the name Copenhagen Signs with sign painting, hand lettering and graphic design. His lettering works is featured in the new book by Victionary Hand Style Lettering. With a great knowledge in digital design and sign making techniques, is working towards maintaining the craft of sign painting in Denmark. Besides his daily work as a traditional sign painter he is teaching lettering workshops around the world, and also giving speaks about sign painting. Jakobis currently working on a photo book about Signs of Denmark, published spring 2018.

JONATHAN PIERINI

Jonathan Pierini is a type and graphic designer. He holds a BA in graphic design and visual communication from ISIA Urbino and a MA in type and media from KABK, the Royal Academy of Arts of The Hague, The Netherlands. After some experiences working for graphic design offices and collaborating with several universities, Jonathanmoves to London to work at Dalton Maag Ltd type design office (2010/2011). Between 2011 and 2017 he works at the Faculty of Design and Art of the Free University of Bolzano, as researcher and Assistant Professor in Graphic Design. Since September 2017 Jonathan is Director at ISIA Urbino. He is editor, together with Gianluca Camillini, of Progetto Grafico magazine edited by AIAP.

SASCHA LOBE

Sascha Lobe studied graphic design with Uwe Lohrer at Pforzheim University and founded L2M3 in 1999. As of 2001, he has independently headed his studio L2M3 as lead creative director. He joined Pentagram in 2018. Lobe has spoken at various design symposia such as Typo Berlin, AGI London, Nordic House Reykjavik, the Museum of Arts and Design New York and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. He has also been a member of the jury at the German Designer Club (DDC) and 100 Beste Plakate competition amongst many others. Moreover, he has held lectures and workshops at various universities and academies in Germany including HfT Stuttgart, Kunstakademie Stuttgart, HfG Pforzheim, HfK Bremen, HfG Zürich and FH Düsseldorf. As of 2009 he was appointed to the Alliance Graphique International (AGI) and chairs the Professor of Typography at HfG Offenbach. In 2014 Lobe is the newly appointed member of the Kunstbeirat of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Germany. His printed art works are currently held by design collections such as Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, Neue Sammlung München, Kunstbibliothek Berlin, Bibliothèque Nationale de France and Designmuseum Frankfurt.
