An exploration of a lunar landscape

Paisaje Lunar (2010) by Giovanni Sánchez TOTMuseum of Contemporary Art Bogotá

The work only uses three colors: red, white, and black. Cats play a fundamental role in the visual and graphic language of TOT.

In the top right hand corner we find a feline whose characteristics are also similar to a small fox.

In the center of the painting, these three brushstrokes complement each other in such a way that as we take a closer look...

we realize these brushstrokes and paint droplets build a stylized cat in the very center of the composition.

To the right and with longer ears, we discover a "cat-rabbit."

A bit further down we find another fox-cat again. TOT shows that hybrid identities thrive in urban environments where we assume different roles to adapt to threats and opportunities.
