Food for Soul is a non-profit organization founded by chef Massimo Bottura and Lara Gilmore to empower socially responsible actions that foster inclusivity and support a healthy, equitable and sustainable food system. With a global network of nonprofit partners, the organization operates Refettorio projects around the world that demonstrate the value of hospitality, power of beauty and quality of ideas to create social change. Each project space is unique with individual design perspectives and artistic expressions that shine light on the traditions and customs of the local area Refettorio community kitchens take local action reducing food loss and waste by transforming underutilized surplus ingredients into nourishing meals for those experiencing food insecurity and isolation, while offering food education and job training for those most socially vulnerable.
Food for Soul believes that Food, Culture, Art hold the greatest opportunity to create collective impact and ensure the well being of people and health of the planet.
