SOCH Outreach Foundation
SOCH Outreach is an initiative by Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy to empower Pakistanis through visual arts and education. Our vision is to invest in developing enlightened and responsible citizens, equipping them with the critical thinking skills to make informed decisions about their lives. Our mission is to create a unique platform that provides access to film and filmmaking for marginalized and underserved communities across Pakistan, by running Mobile Cinema and School Outreach programs and offering workshops and training on film production and other related skills. SOCH Outreach is also dedicated to elevating the status of women and creating awareness about their rights. We are committed to using storytelling and film to build a more just and equitable Pakistan for all. All content on this website has been gathered, curated, and documented through a series of interviews, following oral history traditions. Families and communities from Pakistan and the diaspora generously shared their inherited and lived knowledge and traditions. The featured recipes are likewise derived from handwritten and memory-based narratives.

V. Shantaram Motion Picture Scientific Research and Cultural Foundation
The V. Shantaram Motion Picture Scientific Research & Cultural Foundation was established on November 18, 1977 by Dr. V. Shantaram in order to promote scientific research in the field of film production as well as the development of art and culture in India. In the first decade and half, the Foundation not only financed and supported several technological breakthroughs in the realm of sound recording but also produced a film on its mentor, Portrait of a Pioneer, directed by Madhura Jasraj, and published Shantarama, his autobiography in two languages Marathi and Hindi. The main library was inaugurated on April 30, 1981 while the specialised library on Indian cinema was inaugurated in 1995. It also hosted the Film Researchers Conference for several years before the Internet.
