Ilija Basicevic Bosilj cultivated the land and raised cattle. During the Second World War, he spent some time in Vienna where he got tuberculosis. After he had returned to Sid, he stopped doing hard work in his household due to his bad health, but he also lost most of his property because of the political situation.

In such circumstances, he began painting in 1957. His first works were drawings and Gouache, later oil painting on wood, canvas, fiberboard, cardboard, paper and rarely glass. He first exhibited his paintings in 1962 and his first solo exhibition was in 1963.

Owing to the numerous exhibitions, he was quickly recognised as one of the most original artists in contemporary naïve art. He donated his legacy of 287 paintings and 51 paintings by other painters. Today it is an art gallery and museum collection that is named Ilijanum after him. He died in 1972 in Sid.

The red frame shows four apocalyptic animals, between which are the keys. The middle and lower half of the painting is filled with a representation of the four riders of the Apocalypse, the upper right corner with a representation of an angel, the upper left corner with a representation of a bull.

The keys are painted on a wooden frame. In the central part of the composition, in the background is a representation of the church from which the voice comes out. In the foreground of the picture are seven angels pouring cups of wrath on Earth.

The composition is arranged on a central golden surface and a white edge. There are five figures in the upper zone. In the lower zone, in the left corner, there is a figure of a bird surrounded by a blue-green surface, and to the right of it, an animal resembling a horse.

In the central part there is a representation of a tree, on whose branches and around them are 13 fantastic creatures. In the lower right corner, next to the human figure, the name of the painting is written: "Bačinački brest". The blue frame is painted with yellow and red keys.

On the light background on the left part of the picture, there is a representation of a female person, with red hair and in a green skirt, standing next to a simple object. Below it, to the right, are birds of various sizes and shapes.

The frame is painted with alternating gray, white and blue fields. In the white and light fields, there are birds on the horizontal boards of the frame, and only one bird on the vertical ones.
