Black Cube
Developed by Ars Electrónica in Linz, Austria; It is a space designed to exhibit and combine mixtures between various visualization projects from scientific fields and technological applications. Biotechnology and genetic engineering, neurology, robotics, and art are juxtaposed on equitable terms and form experimental sets conducive to testing ways in which we could interact with our environment and other human beings in the very near future. It seeks to reflect on what these changes will mean for us and our society.

The Black Cube is not only a milestone in imaging technology, but it is also a space for scholarly communication, research, and even artistic expression.
Technology
The 8k system featuring the black cube involves complex data processing that results in a high level of detail in every projected image. In contrast to a conventional projection, people are not sitting in the dark, looking only at the screen. Still, they are inside the same screening, motivating them to walk and discover for themselves.

The black cube experience features a lighting power of 30,000 ANSI lumens in two projections (on the wall and the floor) of 16 x 9 meters.
The projection system consists of eight projectors: four for the wall and four for the floor. The 8,192 x 4,320 pixels, each computed 120 times per second and then processed to each of the projectors through four separate channels. In the end, they all combine to generate each image. Fifty million pixels that allow a unique data visualization experience.

The Hubble Telescope app presents detailed images of outer space, galaxies, and stars.
The experience implies a 23 GB per second processing in real-time, which allows an extraordinary degree of detail and opens up new possibilities of representation, especially concerning graphic surfaces and the economy of visual information.

The Black Cube will serve as an open-source experimentation laboratory, promoting new applications and visualization projects.
Prima Materia
Developed by the collective of artists and creatives: NOHLab, Prima Materia is a stereoscopic audiovisual journey on the forms of matter. Alchemical authors used the term "raw matter" as the fundamental element of all creation from the masculine and feminine, to the earth, the body, and the spirit, chaos, and the microcosm. Contains all colors and potentially all metals and shapes

Sun
In the experience of the Sun, we observe the project carried out by Michel König created with the recordings of the NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory. These images bring together a detailed record of solar activity between 2011 and 2015. The soundtrack is the work of Mexican artist Murcof (Fernando Corona).

Ars Electronica
It annually organizes the delivery of the most prestigious award in design, art, and web programming: the Ars Prix. The annual festival in Linz brings together artists, researchers, programmers, institutions, and entrepreneurs who are looking for projects developed within the framework of contemporary themes. Your research center: Future Lab develops research in various academic fields, patents, and trends in innovation.
