Real universe, imagined universe
The exhibition brings together the works of artist Luciana Matalon and the astrophotographs of Daniele Gasparri, Marco Bastoni and Stefano Maraggi. An encounter that arises from the common investigation of existence, the universe and its mysteries
Luciana Matalon
Multifaceted and experimental artist, from the second half of the 60s she began to explore the astral dimension, creating cosmic images with mixed techniques, combining plastics, optical fibers, relief resins and painting.
Passione Astronomia
Gasparri, Bastoni and Maraggi are part of Passione Astronomia, a group that aims to make scientific divulgation related to Space, making it accessible to all.
Daniele Gasparri
Is an astrophysicist and astrophotographer: when he is not busy writing astronomy books he dedicates himself to photographing nebulae, galaxies, comets and all the wonders of the open space he can capture.
One example is the spiral galaxy M51 featured in this shot.
Stefano Maraggi
Started his career as a landscape photographer moving on to Astrophotography.
In this photo Maraggi has captured the millions of stars belonging to the Milky Way while towering above a small monastery scattered in the mountains of the Brescian Pre-Alps.
Marco Bastoni
Is an astrophile, scientific disseminator and hunter of solar eclipses around the world.
Bastoni photographed the 2008 solar eclipse from the Mongolian desert, capturing the glowing atmosphere surrounding the star like a crown.
