Established 1 July 2000, we're the current version of an organisation with responsibility for providing public transport in London that stretches back to 1933.

We are London Underground

Beginning as private individual railway companies, the Underground is over 160 years old

We manage the Capital's tram network. Services run from Croydon to Wimbledon, Beckenham Junction, Elmers End and New Addington

We are River Services

We manage piers along the Thames, licence passenger boat services, and own and operate the Woolwich Ferry

Using your own bike or one of our cycle hire bikes, we want you to be able to explore and navigate the Capital safely using pedal power

We are Roads

Our roads responsibility is vast.  We manage London's 'red routes' and are responsible for the maintenance, management and operation of the Capital's 6,000+ sets of traffic lights!

We are the London Cable Car

The London Cable Car is the UK's first urban cable car. It opened on 28 June 2012 and connects the Greenwich Peninsula with the Royal Docks

We are the Elizabeth Line

The Elizabeth line brought together two sections of railway running as TfL Rail with a new section under central London built by Crossrail Ltd. Passengers can travel from Reading and Heathrow in the west, to Abbey Wood and Shenfield in the east

We are Buses

We manage a bus fleet of around 9,300 vehicles operating across 675 routes

We are Taxis and Private Hire

We're responsible for licencing all London taxi and private hire drivers and vehicles. We set regulations and policies to protect customers, and ensure vehicles are safe, accessible and environmentally conscious
