Belz by SkeironSkeiron
Belz is once a powerful principality.
Today it is a small town with no more than two thousand inhabitants. It is located three kilometers from the Polish border.
Belz is a town with a grand history
The first written mention of Belz is contained in the "Tale of Bygone Years" about 1030.
We have scanned ruins of the Church of the Dominican Fathers in partnership with Aliph Foundation.
History
The Dominican Order appeared in Belz at the invitation of Prince Ziemowit IV in 1394. They immediately built a wooden church and monastery cells. Later, in the middle of the XVIth century they built a new stone monastery church.

The church was active for 400 years, until it was destroyed by Soviet military during the capture of Belz in 1944.
To this day, only fragments of the powerful walls of the shrine have survived, only the bell tower standing near the ruins of the church and the former monastery house of the Dominicans, which was eventually turned into the town hall, were saved.
Skeiron team has worked on the church in August 2022. During the work, about 300 photos were taken and 30 stations were installed.

#SaveUkrainianHeritage
The project is 3D scanning of cultural monuments throughout Ukraine. We create 3D models using laser scanning and photogrammetry technologies. This allows you to record the condition of the monument more accurately and help restore it in case of destruction.
#SaveUkrainianHeritage
In this initiative, we strive to unite the efforts of all those who can can contribute to the scan - professionals in this field, conservationists, and appreciators. To do this, we are developing various opportunities to support the initiative.
