The "Ancient Lviv Museum"

It is one of the components of a large-scale national project of innovative museums under the brand "Formation of the Ukrainian Nation". The project aims to create a developed, strong educational and tourist sector in the country and to enhance the image of Ukraine.

The main goal of the "Ancient Lviv Museum"

It is to unite the city's residents around its history, to showcase Lviv as a pearl of Europe and the cultural capital of Ukraine.

The museum was opened on 30 July 2020.

Its uniqueness lies in the combination of innovative technologies, historical artefacts from private collections, funds of Ukrainian and European museums, 3D dioramas supplemented with scents and sounds.

It is interesting to note that it was in the 14th century that this type of kitchen utensil acquired new design features. While classical Old Ruthenian frying pans had a flat bottom with slightly sloping sides, this exhibit demonstrates how the volume increases with depth.

Earthenware mugs (XVII-XVIII ст).

They demonstrate the lifestyle and material possibilities of the Cossack elite during this period. During this period, copper, zinc (tin), silver, porcelain, and crystal tableware, typical of European food culture, became widespread.
